Community Computers of Norman is a brand new, small-scale Greenbriar Collective project that seeks to take donations of older computers, refurbish them, and provide them to persons in need.  CC runs entirely on donations of equipment, time, and goodwill.

While CC runs on donations of technology, please note that we currently do not have the capacity to accept broken equipment.  If you are looking for an environmentally responsible way to dispose of your equipment, we suggest Natural Evolution in Tulsa.

To make a donation, please call 405.307.8594 to arrange delivery.

Sound interesting?  Want to help out?  Call us!  CC is a horizontally-organized project that runs on consensus, equality, & the gift economy.

Community Computers is not accepting any more donations until we clear our current inventory.  We would like to thank everyone in the community who has been so generous in helping us pursue our goal of equitable technology distribution, and we will let everyone know when we open the gates again.  Thank you!

We accept working:

  • Monitors, CPUs, printers, & individual components
  • Keyboards, mice, & external peripherals
  • Floppy diskettes, CDs, & computer cables
  • CPUs with known working motherboards/cards/power supplies/etc.

We do not accept:

  • Packaging of any kind
  • Pre-Pentium 1 CPUs
  • Terminals or CPU/CRT combos
  • Appliances
  • Macs (this will change as soon as we have a volunteer familiar with Macs)

Future CC expansion plans include:

  • Provide structured GNU/Linux-focused software training.
  • Work with Natural Evolution to provide broken/unusable equipment recycling.
  • Have a functioning volunteer program to increase processing, spread computer literacy, and broaden democratic models of organizing in Oklahoma.

The meme spreads.
